Dr. Ehab began his professional career in legal practice before transitioning into academia. He serves as a consultant in civil and commercial matters, providing practical solutions to the non-profit and waqf sectors in the areas of governance, compliance, and asset management. His experience combines hands-on practice in law firms with academic research and teaching at the university level, which is reflected in a clear approach to analyzing facts and drafting actionable recommendations.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law (Sharia-based legal systems) from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sharia from Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah. He then obtained both a Master’s degree and a PhD in Law (legal systems) from Umm Al-Qura University, and holds a Diploma in Arbitration in Marine Insurance Disputes from Kuwait. This dual academic background has enabled him to bridge classical legal jurisprudence with modern statutory frameworks, and to engage with best practices relevant to the public sector, the private sector, and the third sector.
He is a faculty member in the Department of Law at the College of Judicial Studies and Law at Umm Al-Qura University. He previously worked as a lawyer, notary public, and partner at a law and consulting group. He has also served as a sole arbitrator, and as a member and chair of arbitral tribunals in a number of disputes. He has provided advisory services to several waqf entities, foundations, and non-profit associations on governance, oversight, and waqf asset management. He has participated in conferences and specialized programs in arbitration, compliance, and governance, and has delivered training and lectures in more than fifty professional courses and events.
